Personally the physics of it being a failed missile test does not add up. If it was, it would not stay in one place and not loose altitude. But that is just my intuition and nothing else.

Yes, I saw this and was thinking along the same lines as you. However a neighbor mentioned if (BIG 'if') conditions were right, it could indeed spiral like this did.
What I noticed most was the dark circle that appears inside the ring. No stars and it seems darker than the rest of the sky.
