Obama on Executive Bonuses

I agree with Obama in this video completely about what should be done with the Executives and the money.

From http://thinkprogress.org/2009/03/18/obama-aig-fire/

thinkprogress is usually pretty left leaning i would say.

Change we can believe in!

I also just found this on opensecrets.com

http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/toprecips.php?id=D000000123

Shows that Obama received a lot of political contributions from AIG.

Hedging one's bet is a very american thing to do IMO. I would be very suprised if AIG hadn't given campaign contributions to BOTH sides of the aisle in this last election.

The biggest problem with all this bonus crap is that the people who are cloaking themselves in "capitalism" are the one's destroying it! A cornerstone of capitalsim is viability, if a business or product isn't viable it either goes out of business or stops being produced. Obvious interdependancies created in our financial sector by a lack of oversight meant that the principle of viability had to be ignored to keep the rest of our economy from callapsing, ie the first bailout. Keeping these failed/corrupt business from going under was a necessary evil but the idea that the people running these corps. could think its alright to shell out hundreds of millions of dollars that the companies didn't even make for themselves in the first place should be CRIMINAL! Unless the peoplel receiving these bonuses decide to give them back or not accept them I dont see how the U.S. can keep these checks from going out.
