A 300 HP Easter Egg???

Well here are a few shots of my old mans latest ridiculous project. He has owned this 1972 Porsche since 1974. It originally had a 90 HP little 4 banger. Today it has a 300 HP mid 90's Porsche 911 motor in it.

The project was basically a ground up restoration, and some serious modifications to make it entirely too fast. The car only weights 2050 lbs, and has 300 HP. The power to weight ration is equal to that of the F430.

My dad consulted me on the color for nothing short of months. In the end, he did not listen to my advice what so ever.

Please feel free to share your honest opinions of the color.

This is a monster oil tank. The motor is air cooled, and thus has an extra large oil tank to assist in cooling

I love the all black wheels and the mufflers. Its gonna rumble

Nearly finished product. Its missing seats in this photo

The car will be featured in the all Porsche magazine, Excellence in the upcoming months. I will post the article as soon as its published.

Again, please tell me your opinion of the color.

I give the color two thumbs up.

Color is pretty strange... I think that if it were the same kind of tint but with a green, it would look alot better. Or if it had whitewalls and stainless rims it would compliment the color alot better. The all black wheels make it look funny.

You can't mess with this steez.

Thanks for posting up those photos Ethan. I still cant believe (well acutally I can I would just rather not) that Paul felt compelled to paint this monster like a seasonal M&M candy! I like the look of the black wheels but the roof not being black anymore makes the whole car look off... Tell your old man that he needs to take the top and get it re-sprayed in the same gloss black that the wheels are in. Oh, and dont forget you promised me a ride in that thing when its all finished!

Scratch that, anything from the hoodline up needs to be in a gloss black! A and C pillars and the roof. So much frickin' candy coating green on this thing... hurts the eyes.

I agree with the add more black any way possible idea. The C pillar and the roof used to be a textured black plastic. I begged my old man to leave it that way. Of course, that didn't work either.

At this point, all I can think to do is tint the windows limo black so no one can see inside to see who the nutcase behind the wheel is. haha

It is deffinitly one of those cars you are glad to be looking out instead of in. Textured black wasn't ideal either but so many euro sport cars do atleast a black roof.

It is definitely the color of an Easter egg.

Life should be more like the commercials for top-shelf spirits.

Well I got to drive the car in Phoenix last week. It looks better in real life then it does in the photos, thank god.

The car is very crude and very very loud. It was basically so loud that I wanted to shut it off at traffic lights because I was vibrating the fillings out of the old peoples teeth around me. However, when you get on the gas it hauls ass big time. You can feel how light the car is, as very small throttle modulation yields neck straining acceleration.

I'll try to bring it up to Ft. Collins sometime to show it to anyone who wants a ride. Maybe even in the next couple of days.

LOL, they'll be screaming for you to open up your bag of candy and give them some M&M's! Just make sure that they are legal first E*tan or you might be in for some trouble.
