That article makes some really good points.

First, of all there are tons of users that would gladly pay $5 per month for a subscriptioion to unlimited music downloading. But the music industry has never offered such a solution, so why force ISPs now? Why have they not done the same to companies that produce CD blanks?

Second, how do they know which music users are pirating so that these funds can reimburst the correct artists?

Third, if they started charging through ISP would anyone buy a CD from a store?

Just like other buisnesses, you're buisness model has to change to accomidate the changing market as technology advances. But the music industry has never done that, they still force people to buy outragously priced stamped pieces of plastic. I like watching them squirm grabbing for every futile oppertunity as they drown.
